UNSUNG GAMES THAT ARE WORH PLAYING!!

 Ever wondered what a mafia is? 

 Well, even I don't know it! But I can tell you about how a mafia game is played. It is one of the interesting games played at party and company dinners. The larger the group the more is the enthusiasm in each player. It is one of my personal favorites. So here is the write up about this game.

2. MAFIA

  

 Also famously known as Don't lie or werewolf. I know every one of us have heard about this game. But we can make this game more interesting by adding up plot twists such as prize money, treasure hunt pranking a certain player. In mafia game there are two teams the Mafias and the Citizens.

 So, the game starts with choosing a moderator who is unbiased, and his duties include assigning roles to the rest of the players, timing discussions, Informing the players if they have been eliminated and sometimes giving clues. All players are assigned a particular role: Mafia, Doctor, Policeman and Citizens. Generally, there are three mafias, one doctor, one policeman and rest of the players are citizens. RULE: Do not disclose your identity. 

 Mafia will kill players and try to convince other players who the mafia is without revealing themselves, doctor can save himself or other players depending on the need of the game, the policeman has power to identify the role of a certain player, but he is not allowed to disclose it to others and the citizens just needs to figure out who the mafia is and vote them off. The game of mafia is about convincing others, about being able to lie believably, and about being able to figure out if other people are lying. 

 This game has two alternating phases: night and day-phase. In Night-phase, the mafias will try to kill other players of their choice and doctor saves one player and policeman identifies the role of a certain player. A day-phase, in which all the surviving players debate and vote to eliminate a suspect. Each round begins with the moderator telling all players to close their eyes. Then the mafia players open up their eyes and together decides to eliminate one player by silently finger pointing the player. And then the mafias will close their eyes again, doctor will open up his eyes and save someone by pointing the player- the player is saved for the particular round, he could choose to save himself too.RULE:If the doctor saves the player that was eliminated by the mafia, the player remains in the game. Then the policeman comes in picture and identifies the role by silently picking up a player the moderator will silently signal if the player is mafia or not. Then the Morning comes- day phase starts, and all the players open up their eyes. All the players then debate on who they think the is part of the mafia. Two players are selected to go on a trial and each player votes on who they think mafia is. The player with more votes is eliminated from the game. RULE: Eliminated players are not allowed to speak up and participate in the game also disclose any information.

 The moderator starts the next round telling all remaining players to close their eyes. The round then continues the same as the first round. If all the Mafias are eliminated- citizens wins the game and if they fail to identify all the mafias- Mafias wins the game. This is how the games works!!A bit time consuming but worth if playing.
